Today is Baby Recognition Sunday. July 13th: Youth - Sizzlin' Summer Sunday: We will be playing Beach Volleyball tonight @ Sandy Creek Park (NOT the Nature Center) from 6 - 8 PM. Meet at Sandy Creek Park at 6 PM. Wear athletic attire and some snacks will be provided. Our Summer Events are for rising 8th graders through rising College Freshmen. The Prayer Shawl Ministry will have its first gathering on Monday, July 14, at 6:30 PM in the Pathmakers Classroom. If you are interested in helping to provide prayer shawls for people who are hurting, healing, or celebrating, please join us. You will need to bring size 13 knitting needles, or size M crochet hook, and 3 skeins of yarn. A nursery will be provided. Please contact Kathy Whitaker at 706-354-8800 if you have any questions.
Lay Speaking Classes for August 2008 will be held in 4 sessions on August 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 9 AM - noon. Two classes will be held at Tuckston UMC - The Basic Course for Lay Speaking, and an advanced course Lay Speakers Lead Small Groups. One advanced course will be held at Chapelwood UMC - Lay Speakers Lead in Mission Outreach. Remember that lay speakers are required to take a course every three years to remain certified.
The Children's Ministry: Back to School Bowling Bash on Monday, August 4th from 10:00 – 12 noon. Meet at Showtime Bowl. Please register by contacting Michele May at 706-353-1311 or michele45@bellsouth.net by Sunday, July 27th. The cost is $3.75 per game/$7.50 to bowl 2 games. Please wear athletic shoes. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
If You Loaned Us Beach Chairs and/or Beach Towels During VBS you may pick them up in the Children’s Ministry Office (FLC 101).
The Women's Ministry at Tuckston will begin a Bible Study on Tuesday, August 26th from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The study will last ten weeks, and be held in the Fellowship Hall. The Bible Study is entitled "Tuesdays with Beth Moore." It is a video series with Beth Moore teaching ten independent topics and a discussion time. This study differs from ones in the past because no study manual is required and the cost is free. A free nursery is also provided. Contact the church office (353-1311) or Julie Cornelius (juliecorn1@bellsouth.net) to sign up by August 25th. Include nursery needs in message. The study will be led by Barbara Cornelius.
