Many of our members have completed the Disciple 1 program; and some have gone on to complete one or more of the five advanced Disciple courses. Most have enjoyed real progress in their journey of faith; and are now much, much closer to understanding God’s Word. Most have also found new friends and support in this small group ministry. However there are still those among us who fear that taking Disciple 1 would be overwhelming. Not so!

      Disciple 1 is an introductory course which covers many of the important passages in the most important books of the Bible. We do not try to read the entire Bible in our study which has 34 lessons, done over the course of a school year. There are five advanced Disciple courses for those seeking a fuller understanding of God’s Word. However Disciple 1 is designed as the basic foundation course. Each week selected Bible passages are assigned and discussed in class along with a video on the topic.

      Everyone benefits from Disciple, from those mature in the faith, having read the Bible many times, to those just starting out, both young and mature. There are even a few of us who have taken Disciple 1 over and over, who still learn new things about God’s message every time. We all benefit from collaboration in our small group Disciple study, with the class leader and fellow students always ready to help one another in understanding the Bible passages.

      As we progress through important parts of the Old and New Testaments, students are enriched by discussing the history, geography, and circumstances of the selected Bible passages; but primarily by reading the Bible stories and parables.
