LIVE is our Sunday morning Sunday school curriculum for Middle and High School students. This four year study takes students through multiple books of the Bible, expanding their knowledge of scripture and how it applies to a number of different topics.

The high school years represent a transformative season in the life of a teenager. These are years for students to develop greater boldness in their faith, respond to challenges from peers and adults, prepare for post-high school life, make significant choices that will shape the rest of their lives, and explore what it means to be a follower of Christ in the 21st century.

Capture the energy and potential of this season with High School LIVE—curriculum designed to help teenagers own their faith and follow the journey of a Jesus-centered life.

We’ve designed this curriculum as an engaging tool to help nurture a healthy high school ministry. This four-year strategy is built around a 36-week ministry calendar year, with each year’s content connecting to topics and themes covered in previous years.

11:00 Middle School Class (Room 114 Gym)

Taking generic youth ministry curriculum and using it with junior high students can feel like the proverbial square pegs and round holes—nothing works quite right, it’s painful to watch, and it isn’t fun for anyone involved!

That’s why we chose the Junior High LIVE Curriculum! The lessons feature topics, illustrations, activities, and application truths that are appropriate and tailor-made for our junior high audience.

This cohesive, two-year plan follows a 36-week ministry calendar year. Lessons flow from one topic to the next, and the second year builds on the themes and truths introduced in the first year.

All 72 lessons reflect solid biblical foundations and a commitment to hands-on, interactive learning styles that church leaders expect from Group and Simply Youth Ministry. We’ve packed each series with questions that will get students discussing, debating, examining, and thinking for themselves—essential skills in helping them own their faith.

March Mission Madness

Wednesday Night Options:

This March we are celebrating March Madness with March Mission Madness on Wednesday nights! Each Wednesday we are going to be getting involved in our community in a number of different ways. (see below) Please make sure to sign-up online and don’t forget you must have a current 2013 Youth Health Form on file to participate. If you are bringing a friend make sure to sign them up as well and have them fill out the Youth Participation Form. These can be found on the “Forms” page of our website.

3/6  Youth Work Day at the Church

-Youth will help put together the “Wall-O-Missions” that will hold our Missions Cards for March Missions. 

-We will be using power tools, hammers, nails, and paint to complete this project so please dress accordingly.

-Youth Room 6:30-7:30pm

3/13  Volunteer Night at the Athens Humane Society

-Youth will help out at the Athens Humane Society setting up for their St. Patricks Day Event.

-We will help with the set up of the Humane Societies Happy St. “Catricks” Day Celebration by hanging posters, flyers, shamrocks and more!

-Meet in the Youth Room at 5:45pm.

-We will be back by 7:30pm

3/20  Shut In Cookie Outing

-Youth will help make dessert bags and deliver food to church members who are home bound.

-Meet at the church at 6:00pm to prepare cookies and goodie bags for shut-ins. 

-We will leave at 6:30pm to deliver the goodie bags and return around 7:30pm.

3/27  Athens Area Homeless Shelter

-Youth will hang out and play games with the younger residents at the shelter and also help with any homework if needed.

-Meet at the church at 6:00pm and we will return around 7:30pm.

Youth Drama Team

Next Practice: April 21st, 2013 at 12:00 in the Middle School Youth Room

Ever thought about joining a fun group of people who love doing crazy skits and life changing drama's? If you answered yes, then the Youth Drama Team is the team for you! We are always looking for awesome students to help out either with the actual drama's or even props and videotaping.

The Harbor

Sunday Nights

Time: 5:30-8:00pm

The Harbor is our Sunday night youth meeting. What you’ll find are a bunch of awesome young people from all walks of life, trying to navigate the rough waters of teenage life together. 

Through crazy games to fun discussions sitting around the table during dinner,  experiential worship, a mind challenging lesson and small groups  that will last a life time; the Harbor is the place to be on Sunday night!
